History
Being from a small town in Florida there were a lot of things I was not used to seeing. Some of the things we didn’t have in my town were gangs, street violence, and a high rate of crime. I did always know that bad things happen, but not in Ocala. Upon my moving from Florida to Maryland it was a complete shock. On the news there was always so much death, doom, and destruction that I would just focus on my entertainment work. One day while riding through a neighborhood I noticed all of these R.I.P signs on buildings, and street memorials. All of those signs where for a child or youth lost to violence in the City of Baltimore. I said to myself that should not be R.I.P for Rest in Peace, but for Rescue in Progress. From that day on the Choose Life Movement was formed.
Rescue In Progress (R.I.P) started as a street mission collaborated with a local church in Baltimore. This allowed us to reach those who would not seek help from any viable source. The youth were receptive to this method because it showed them that people do care about their future.
Objective

The objective of R.I.P is to create a life program that brings about better decision making. In addition, we want them to choose college, trade, talent, etc so they can have a good life.
Program Overview

The R.I.P program is designed for those considered severely high risk. These particular youths are repeat offenders, convicted felons, homeless, probation, high school dropout, group home, foster care, and those currently incarcerated. R.I.P will try not to exclude anyone from the program due to their past. We are also developing a program to stop recidivism called Stop the Revolving Doors.
The R.I.P program will also have an aspect of entertainment and community involvement to reinforce the skills, and counseling they care undergoing. This will include rap, skits, spoken word, volunteering, peer mentoring, instrument playing, and entrepreneurship, etc. These things will help to reinforce program ideas using methods common to youths to help them to understand their potential if they choose life.
